Upon walking into the home, you will be enamored by its unique and beautiful craftsmanship. The spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo branch of the Rocky Mountains and San Luis Valley are seen from most every room. The property shares its borders with the Baca Wildlife Refuge & Incredible Great Sand Dunes National Park, which is a must see during your stay. Five 14,000+ foot mountains are nearby for those eager to explore nature and try their hand at some world class mountain hiking. An easy drive will take you into quaint downtown Crestone which boasts an organic grocery store, coffee house, restaurants, gift shops, art galleries and more. Monarch Mountain ski resort is just over an hour away for those amazing winter sports.  

While the home is off grid its comfortable and easy to stay with the power limitations by being aware of your power usage and monitoring the power display on cloudy days.  The WIFI signal is good within the house and you can easily watch streaming movies on the big screen TV or work remotely for Zoom meetings and conferences.

Crestone Colorado is a unique and diverse high desert mountain town in South Central Colorado. Crestone town and the surrounding Baca Grande community is home to some five thousand people; a small and active community of artists, healers, travelers, nuns, monks and missionaries seeking to create a spiritually fulfilling and abundant life together. The Crestone Community is full of churches, monasarties, shrines and temples attracting people from around the globe to come and explore spirituality and find healing and retreat.

Dogs are Welcome inside the house and outside the property. However, we do have strict policies around dogs. Please: Maximum of 2 dogs and please no cats due to owner allergies. A $50 pet fee is assessed for your furry friends. Please be sure to add your furry friends to the reservation at the time of booking during the checkout process. When reserving though Airbnb there is no option to add the pet fee; so, this is done through a reservation change request after you make your reservation. Your host will prompt you to add the pet fee so please look out for the message. We ask you keep your buddies on a leash or strict voice command, the property is home to a lot of wildlife like deer, elk, bunnies, chipmunk, bear, coyote, owls, hawks and other predators, this is for you pets safety as well as the wild animals. Please pick up after your pet. Dogs must be attended to at all times and never left alone on the property. Please keep your pet off furnishings and linens and use a crate when possible. Also, please unsure your pet doesn't jump up and scratch the walls and doors. If damage occurs you could be liable for up to $500 for repair.

 The San Luis Valley is a vast beautiful valley floor looking out 360 degrees across fourteen-thousand-foot peaks. Take a day trip and explore the San Luis Valley, you’ll find The Great Sand Dunes National Park, Natural Hot Spring Swimming Pools and The Colorado Gator Farm all sprinkled amongst unique small towns in rural Colorado.   
 Crestone is situated at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, boasting several fourteen-thousand-foot peaks and pristine alpine lakes for outdoor hiking, camping and fishing.  The wildlife refuges and protected forests create incredible opportunities to come close to nature and truly experience the wildlife. Great for birdwatching, art, hiking, biking and camping. There are so many ways to appreciate and explore nature around Crestone. 

THE SPACE 

This home spares no expense in regard to top end finishes. Radiant floors. The fully stocked modern and minimalist kitchen displays impeccable tile work which mimics the mountain views right outside your windows. Live edge maple bar-height counter offers extra seating. Quartz countertops and sustainable soft closing bamboo lower cabinetry complete the kitchen. Coffee and teas provided to make your mornings more enjoyable. 

Spacious master bedroom is located on the first floor and boasts incredible mountain views. Relax in the reading chair as you take in the views and a good read. 

The spacious open circular dining room adjacent to the kitchen provides near panoramic views. It boasts stunning vaulted Douglas fir ceilings complete with a unique local Juniper tree blessed by an area Buddhist monk adding even more charm to this home. 

The living room offers a comfortable sectional, ottoman and television for those who would like to enjoy some down time. Wi-Fi internet is included. 

The extremely spacious master bath is located on the first floor off of the living room. You will be greeted with a spacious soaker tub, exquisite shower with river rock floor and detailed tilework throughout. 

Head up the spiral staircase to the second bedrooms' deck at sundown to watch the majestic mountain views transform into the breathtaking night celestials. 

This home truly provides incredible tranquility, peace, quiet and privacy for those seeking a true retreat experience in awe inspiring nature. Whether you wish to take a break and recharge by yourself, with your loved one, or with the family, write a book, work online remotely, attend a local spiritual retreat, have access to world class mountain hiking/skiing and unprecedented stargazing, this property offers it all. 

Crestone Colorado is in the middle of the San Luis Valley. There is very limited public transportation in the area. We recommend Four Wheel Drive, or at least- All Wheel Drive if you are looking to come and stay during the Winter Season.
